Originality and Plagiarism
All articles published in Disaster in Civil Engineering and Architecture must be free from plagiarism. Therefore, submitted articles will undergo a thorough plagiarism check using the Turnitin tool, or authors may be required to provide proof that their work is original. In cases where plagiarism is detected, the journal will adhere to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Plagiarism occurs when an author uses someone else's work without permission, credit, or acknowledgment of the original source. This can range from direct copying to rephrasing another's content. Authors must ensure their work is entirely original. If they incorporate others' ideas or words, proper citations or quotations must be used.
